Why is it, that during this particular November, I’m getting a lot done? I am, perhaps, the most productive I have ever been, and that’s coupled with the threat of a sinus infection and insomnia. I think it’s because of NaNoWriMo, personally, but that’s just me. There is something very motivating about having that daily goal of 1,667 words looming overhead, just within reach. After talking to people, I realized that I’m using NaNo as a reward each day for completing some task, whether it be a classroom assignment, an important e-mail, or the dishes, among other things.
How many of you are participating in NaNoWrimo?
In other news, I keep finding more writing blogs to read. I have my favorites, such as PODdy Mouth, Miss Snark, History Hoydens, etc, but then those blogs post about and/or quote other blogs, so then I start reading those as well. If you’re interested in any, comment and I’ll list some that have made my second list of favorites.
Who else is excited to see Jim come back to Scranton on The Office tonight?! This girl most definitely is the definition of excitement.

I’m doing NaNo! But my word count is a pathetic…5,176 at the moment.
I’m so far behind, because of work and lack of motivation to actually do the writing. Luckily I haven’t had any writer’s block yet.

You should keep going! There are plenty of times when I’ve sat down and been completely unmotivated, can’t think of a word to put to the page, but I force myself to write something, even if it’s as asinine as the word “the.” It’s amazing how things will sometimes begin to flow after that. Maybe you should join a word-war with someone from wrimobuddies, I’ve heard that helps.
And if nothing else, you still have 5,176 more words to work with than before you started!

I’ve done a few word wars and they’ve helped here and there, but part of the problem is that by the time I can get home and join a WriMo chat, I’m too tired (from school or work- take your pick) to be able to focus on writing and I get nothing written. The weekends also kill me because of work (I had a nine hour shift last week- didn’t do any writing that day), so I usually only barely get to write during the week, if I have the inspiration and motivation.

Oof yeah I can see how that would be difficult! Well, keep plugging away.
